Letter from Scarlet - BasicGrey Challenge and DT call

It's no secret that I love Basic Grey products.

The quality is excellent, and colours are vibrant, and I love that I can put four or five papers from the same range together and they blend without one overshadowing another.

I have a bit of a thing with using Scarlets Letter at the moment - I think it is because the 6x6 pad is permanently on my craft desk and everytime I pick it up, I am inspired.

Todays creation will be entered into the BasicGrey challenge - 'punches' and fingers crossed will be considered for DT status.

I hope that I have correctly interpreted the theme - paper piecing. It's all about using the paper in the image and vice versa (I think!).

I've used a freebie stamp from a craft mag, and stamped about six flowers onto scarlets letter, cut them up and scrunched them up, opened the out and fixed them together with a brad. It's cheaper than buying flowers, and the quality of the BG paper means that they hold their shape after scrunching.

I used Brilliance ink to stamp the same image onto the card oval, (stamped onto scrap paper first to remove some of the ink) and over
stamped again with a sentiment from Penny Black (3195H).

I mounted the stamped image onto another piece Scarlets letter, which in turnn went onto another piece, and again another piece with the aim of pulling all the individual pieces together to provide balance.

If I could change anything it would be to use a stamp with a bolder line so that the sentiment stood out a little more, but as it is, I think you can appreciate the papers in all their glory.
