Basic Grey - 30 - sparkle
It's been one of those weeks - where nothing goes right and crap things happen. My last two posts explain some of what's been going on, and I think my choice of stamp for this fortnight BasicGrey challenge sums up kinda how I feel.
The image is by Susan Woolcott and available from Sugar Nellie (Guardian Angel).
It's a lovely image which is so peaceful, but I had long chats with Tracey in the shop about the versatility of the image before purchasing it. I hope that I have been able to show that it is versatile - here I have a gentle sympathy card, and using only the top of the stamp, a Christmas angel.
The theme for the Basic Grey challenge is sparkle. I have used paper from the Jovial range, and a Penny Black Stamp, some Bazzill papers and lots of glitter. Gems are from The Hobby House who do a great range of gems and pearls at quite a reasonable price.

Sad day...
Remember my last comment about the card I made on Wednesday? Well I think my colleague Hannah can explain it all better than I can:
God saw you getting poorly and a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you and whispered ‘come with me’.
We had tearful eyes and tissues, while you slowly passed away,
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove that, he only takes the best.
RIP Jules x

Feel Better Soon
One of my colleagues at work is poorly. She needs surgery and all being well they will operate tomorrow and I was asked to do a card for her.
I used a whipper snapper stamp, coloured with promarkers mounted onto some Kanban card and used my quickutz alphabet (bright, from merry and bright...I think).
I'm quite happy with the result. Fingers crossed everything goes OK tomorrow Jules - we'll be thinking of you xx

Passion week 71 - vintage
hmmmm.... I thought long and hard about the kind of stamps I have and if any of them would fit the theme - vintage/shabby chic.
I settled for an old favourite sugar nellie stamp, coloured with brown/sepia shades of promarkers. Henna,Spice, caramel,Cocoa, cinnamon and tan were used and I glittered some mulberry flowers with cinnamon stickles. Finally I added my latest purchase - some Tim Holtz adage tickets.

PB Saturday Challenge week 120 - Indian Summer
ooh yes please!
It has been decidedly fresh the last few mornings, and it's quite chilly this evening. I refuse to put the heating on until the clocks go back so I am sitting here with a fleece on, with chilly toes and could really do with an indian summer ... ho hum, I think the only experience that I am going to get is this weeks PB Saturday Challenge.
I just love the colours I have splashed out on quite a few gems to add a bit of sparkle.
The stamp I bought on ebay recently - 2378K A Whisker away!It is coloured with promarkers and matted and layered onto some bazzill.
Now where did I put that sun lounger...?!... and make mine a Pimms....

Passion for Promarkers - flowers
I'm not sure if my entry this week will be accepted by the passion for promarkers challenge - but it is a flower, and it is involves the use of promarkers!
I have not made one of these for ages, so it took a little while to get the technique. I coloured random sections of satin ribbon with promarkers I like the bleeding into other colours - the effect was like tye-dying.
If it generates enough interest I will try and do a tutorial for making the rose.
Because it's quite big, I toyed with including it on a card, but decided against it and settled for an embellishment for a favor.
Bonus - if I can't ener it into the passion for promarkers challenge for this week I can always wear it in my hair.....lol!

4105J Starlit (Christmas 2010)
2913C a choice... (never seen this sentiment before)
2369J tip toes (?) This stamp is retired, but Dick has an arrangement with Penny Black and can get some retired stamps which, if you are a PB-aholic like me, is just too tempting...
